Cell and Molecular Biology

Studying biology at cellular and molecular levels is among the most challenging and exciting scientific fields of the 21st century. Division of Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) was established in early 1980s to provide, promote, and enhance a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate training program in cell and molecular biological sciences. As part of the School of Biology, CMB offers undergraduate and graduate programs to perspective students; providing them with state-of-the-art teaching and cutting-edge research labs. Faculty research interests are diverse within bioinformatics, biophysics, biochemistry, molecular cell biology, structural biology, and genetics to overcome major global challenges including health, cancer and disease, cardiovascular and inflammatory disorders.

Faculty of the Division of Cell and Molecular Biology are engaged in advanced study of the

  • Biochemistry of chromatin
  • Biophysics
  • Bioinformatics
  • Cancer
  • Cell division
  • Cell signaling
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Epigenetics in human disease
  • Genetics
  • Genetic disorders
  • Stem cells
